Future Salon/book signing today

Reminder: I’ll be at the Mira Mesa Barnes & Noble (the one by the movie theater) here in San Diego at 7pm tonight to do a talk and book signing. It’s a Future Salon, so expect speculations about where games are going.
Location: Barnes & Noble, 10775 Westview Parkway, San Diego, CA 92126

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I just came back from spending a few hours at Guitar Center. I bought a pretty nice Yamaha APX5A Thinline acoustic/electric guitar. I’ll bring it along just in case you have some time after the salon. 🙂

Since nobody has followed up… the salon was interesting; although, at dinner I think I spent more time exchanging knock-knock jokes and chicken road-crossing riddles with your children than talking about games, the future, etc. Your daughter is incredibly well-spoken, but her reading material is a bit too advanced for me… Oh, yes, for good measure: quack! 🙂
When you discussed the fun-driven chemical improvement to the learning process, I immediately thought, "Do we need games?" Games seem to act as a middleman for learning. If we can release more endorphins during a learning session using some other mechanism (e.g., injection), then can we bypass games altogether?
When you discussed Serious Games, the title I thought you missed was America’s Army. The presentation from Major Chris Chambers at the Serious Games Summit is provided online. Apparently, there are two versions of the game: the internal training edition, and the public edition that is extremely popular. I’d love to have a copy of the SGS DC 2005 Audio Proceedings, but the entire collection is a tad expensive at $262.35…
