About that new phone…
(Visited 10409 times)So I got the T-Mobile MDA. It’s a pocket PC smartphone based on the HTC Wizard reference design, the sort that has the keyboard that slides out from the entire unit, so you have lots of room to type with. So far, I love it even though it was kind of pricy. (By changing over the billing before doing the phone upgrade I missed out on the upgrade pricing).
Supernova, last year
(Visited 13498 times)One of the best conferences I attended last year was Supernova, put together by my friend Kevin Werbach of Wharton. I don’t know whether I will get to go to Supernova this year… At any rate, in bringing my CV up to date, I stumbled across these notes from a panel I was on there, written by J. D. Lasica, author of the excellent book Darknet : Hollywood’s War Against the Digital Generation. Looks like I was saying single-player gaming is an aberration as long as a year ago…

Studio Ghibli’s Tales from Earthsea
(Visited 8953 times)I somehow managed to miss the Tales from Earthsea trailer. It’s being directed by Goro Miyazaki, Hayao Miyazaki’s son. Visually and tonally, it sure comes across as a “Miyazaki film.” Lovely song, too.
One thing that struck me, though, was that once again, none of the characters are black. Sigh.
