HBR on VWs

FWIW, IMHO I need more acronyms in this post.
In any case, Paul Hemp, Senior Editor over at the Harvard Business Review, let me know that there’s an article entitled Are You Ready for E-tailing 2.0? up for free for the next month. It’s interesting speculation regarding whether more and more traditional retail presences will move into virtual worlds.
Myself, I tend to think that we have a ways to go before this is widespread — and when it hits, is it ore likely to be retailers within virtual worlds, or retailers running virtual worlds?

Old news. Read the article a month ago! š
That’s the crux of the article. I think Paul was emphasizing the return of the social shopping experience more than the coming of more once-traditional retailers.

I am Way 2.0 Tired 2.0 of Everything 2.0.
I did, however, note the Wired article about how you can now get a real, live 3D model of your SL avatar (or anything else in SL) “printed.”
Would that be lautriv hself?
“E-tailing 2.0”?
Surfing MySpace for hot chicks?
Ooo, I just typed out a net Web 2.0 business idea that is based on pre-ordering and pre-booking as a lark. But on second thought it’s quite neat.
Surfing MySpace for hot chicks is right š
When I worked for There, back in, christ, 1999? a component of the business plan was actually geared towards retailers buying space in their world and building virtual atrractions around their product. e.g. building a track and field space + game for Nike shoes, etc. It’s been a long running thought, apparently, but it still seems a way off.
