You might have noticed that Amazon says that it’s almost out of stock, with 4-6 weeks for delivery.

The good news it, it’s going back for a third printing, so the publisher tells me that it should be back in stock soon.

  1. LOL! That means I ordered one of the last copies. I’ve only just started reading it, but am finding it fascinating! =)

  2. Just to clarify here, because the publishing industry is so absurd and stupid, the 4-6 weeks Amazon reports is not necessarily how long it will take to get more copies in. Amazon runs that number when the distributor reports the title as publisher out of stock. Most publishers (although I don’t know about Paraglyph) are pretty good about managing their inventory and obviously they want to avoid gaps in the retail market, so the printing is probably in progress already and as soon as the distributor has more in the warehouse, Amazon will update its figures.

Raph can correct me if I’m wrong, but this is typically how this works. So, all of you folks looking to stuff stockings with Theory of Fun still have a shot.

  3. Yeah — usually the 2-3 weeks means that Amazon doesn’t have it in their warehouse, and instead have it stockpiled with distributors like Ingram’s. 4-6 means that the distributors are running low. Since the reprint is already at the printer’s, I would guess that getting it for Xmas is quite doable if you order now.

  4. Hi! can anybody tell me if i should read this? B/c some say it is good others say it is awful. Thanks
