RealMMO/RLMMO interview

The folks at RLMMO contacted me a while ago asking about doing an interview. I figured, these are the same guys who actually launched a whole Areae fan forum already, so who am I to say no?
So here’s the interview, part of their soft launch of a new MMO community site.

Anytime you want part 2 Raph.. the door is always open.
Thank you, Raph for the interview and helping us get our legs underneath us.
I’ve never seen an interview… narrated. It’s kinda cool. It makes reading it an order of magnitude more interesting. Do it again.
I registered right away. A whole forum for idle speculation, mmmmm.
Cool site. I’ll have to register. I’ve been wanting to start a thread about Areae. š
I like the interview too. Did you ever play C-Robots? Or P-Robots? I won a school tournament for P-Robots back in the day where the grand prize was a “Just Do It” keychain. A hallow victory, because all my friends who had trounced me the prior two years were gone by the time I won, even if that year there were more than 100 players. A fun game, and I got admission into the Just Do It club. This was back before Teh Scandal w/ Nike, of course.
Raph, any ETA for a _Grammar of Gameplay_? Is it near or just not realistic to finish with your current commitments? thx
No ETA, I have barely worked on it lately. There’s an outline, and research notes, and that’s about it.
“On Thursday, December 14th, Raph announced to the online world the name of his next game. While little details have come out on exactly what type of game Areae is, you know itāll be the kind of game that we have come to expect from Raph Koster.”
Is that the name of the game or the company? Or are they the same?
It’s the name of the company, not the game.

š Ah well, while I consistently look forward to books more than games, developing games is better than writing a book, in this case. Hope you get the time to do it eventually.
