Q: So will all Activision Games be branded with a new Activision Blizzard logo?
Morhaime: I’m not sure about a logo–that’s something we’ll have to discuss. But I think this issue is very important from a consumer-facing standpoint, so I want to emphasize it: The Activision and Blizzard brands will remain. We’re not going to put Blizzard Entertainment logos on Guitar Hero boxes, and we’re not going to put Activision logos on World of Warcraft boxes.

investor presentation and a letter to employees. In addition, Activision has established a website with information on the merger for employees. Comments on the proposed merger at Raph Koster here andhere.
There should be nothing to discuss… Consolidation is not a solution in this case.
It’s all a very confusing brand identity to me. We had Blizzard and Vivendi before. Blizzard being the development studio of Vivendi’s with such a history of success that it can write it’s own rules within the organization, purchase studios of it’s own and apparently has far greater brand strength than the parent company. You can say that each development studio within Blizz/Act maintains it’s own culture, however it comes down to the politics associated with green lighting new games in a large organization and that’s a full contact sport. 🙂
Time to refresh myself on the list of break-outs from this past year. It seems like all of the old names from over the years are simmering in their respective melting pots, now.
Ghostbusters
Commodore 64
