It is neat. Would you write more about particulars that you found fascinating? Also, did I miss it or have you not contributed?
I was fascinated by the reasons and the evaluations of the games. The effect of “my first” on the rankings. The lost dreams inherent in some of the descriptions.
As far as contributing… I was involved in some capacity with half of the top ten at some point during their lives, and several more down the list. I felt like recusal was probably wisest.
Looks to me like what you’ve really got in that thread is “top 10 massmog memories”. People seem to be rating based on fond remembrance – though they’d likely never go back to those kinds of games.
I think that’s why there’s such a skew toward ‘firsts’ and ‘promise’.
*dryly* You get the same thing in movies and novels. I appreciate Wheel of Time far more than it deserves, because I read it in high school.
You need critical analysis to actually get past memories, first impressions, and dreams.

Was nice to see Avatar listed twice in the favorite MUDs thread. (I’m admin there and have been for nearly a decade.)
We’ve still got issues with grinding (and the resultant draw for Achiever, min-maxer players), though we’ve been working on it, finding ways to encourage the Socializers and Explorers.
