I think all I can say is “Hurray!”
This means that your children will be assigned Neil Gaiman in school at some point. 🙂

It’s a remarkable book. I never did read the original Jungle Book, or I might have found it less remarkable, but standing on its own, it’s quite wonderful. I am terribly glad I picked it up almost as soon as it came out.
I think, most importantly, it’s enjoyable. It doesn’t make me think very deeply, but it’s not supposed to. I can’t imagine the effect it would have on any child, though; I’d love to hear a kid’s review of it. I wonder if I can find that…
I’m not a kid, but I enjoyed reading this book nonetheless.
There will also be a movie, by Neil Jordan (announced yesterday by Gaiman on ‘The Today Show’).

As long as Disney keeps its fingers to itself, we’re cool.
