I wrote this piece as a guitar instrumental. As I was composing it, I realized that it made me think of one of my favorite online comic strips, Alice. So I named it that. I don't have a recording of the piece up yet, but I do have both a MIDI and the sheet music, with tablature, for any guitarists out there.
The capoing on this is tricky. Take your Kyser capo and turn it upside down. Instead of putting it on the regular way, put it on upside down, so that the rubber foot that normally goes on the back of the neck is now resting on the strings. You want to capo strings 2, 3, and 4 (A, D, and G strings) at the 4th fret. Make sure your low E is still ringing open, and that your B string is also ringing clear. You may have to tune your open strings slightly, because Kyser capos tend to make capoed strings go sharp.
You should now be able to play the following tablature without massive finger reaches. The tab shown below is of course just a guideline--when I play it, I toss in a few extra grace notes here and there, and use both a little percussive string slapping with the palm of my hand and a little muting also. Enjoy!
