These stories don't have anything that goes bump in the night. They're both from my undergraduate days--in fact, they were in the book I wrote as my senior thesis to get my undergrad creative writing degree. That means that they date back to at least 1992, and in fact, I wrote the first draft of "The Fire" during my senior year in high school. Its original publication was in the Samuel Wolfson Senior High School literary magazine... God, it's been a long time.
All my more recent fiction, stuff that I did in graduate school, is sitting on a hard drive that I can't read because it was damaged in our house fire in July of '99. I keep meaning to send off the hard drives to get the data recovered, but I still haven't done it.
The Smell of Snow. Set in 1980's New York City, this is the story of a man coming to terms with his life.
