Yes, I've been writing a book. It's called Insubstantial Pageants and it's about online world design. But it's currently stagnant and incomplete. I found too many minor inaccuracies as I went, too many things where I was not clear in my own mind about issues, too many places where I found myself explaining things for the nth time... plus, I was always unsure of what to do with the damn thing once I got it done.
So why is it here? Well, because I have 70-odd pages written and another 80 odd of just outlines. It seemed like a waste to have nobody read it.
So if you like it, post saying so on the guestbook. Let me know which chapters you're really desperate to read, and maybe I'll actually finish them. Tell me how much you'd pay for such a book (and supply the ear of a sympathetic editor!) If I keep feeling like I am writing it in a vacuum, it'll never get done... :)
In what follows, chapters without links to them are ones you don't get to read. :)
